During 2020 and 2021, 18 individuals from Botshabelo and Thaba Nchu were selected to complete an ECD Diploma course presented by Marematlou Training Institute. The 17 ladies and 1 gentlemen completed the course mid 2021 despite the many challenges that was caused by the Covid 19 pandemic. The graduation ceremony was held in December and it certainly was a festive occasion. It was such a pleasure to see the joy in all the faces of the graduates and their families.
At the ceremony representatives from the Department of Education explained why training at this level is so important. The foundation of all further education starts at ECD level, and it is of utmost importance that the quality of education at this level be increased to ensure a good foundation for the rest of the academic curriculum.
